And with a pulse and a jump
The light flares into life,
Into movement,
Distracting from the rhythm
As it gets ready for

The upbeat!
And with a flash and a streak
The light swirls into dance,
Into vibrancy,
Ethereal colours melting
As they wait for

The breakdown!
And with a scream and a shout
The light pounds into steady moves,
Into heartbeats,
Intricate rhythms flowing
As they anticipate

The downbeat!
And with a skip and a step,
The light blends into the return,
Into the familiar,
Thousands of warm bodies
Pulsing together with

The upbeat!
And with a dance and a sound,
The souls all meld into one,
Into cohesion,
Life and light brought together
As the world pounds with

The downbeat!
